Turmeric is one of my favorite spices. Besides many health benefits, including anti-imflammatory properties, it makes food taste good and I love the yellow hue it gives food. I’ve been known to roast potatoes or cauliflour with it along with lemon juice and garlic then add fresh cilantro. Delicious!
Here is a recipe I came up:
- -1 lb lean ground beef
- -one onion, chopped
- -one jalepeno, chopped
- -two cloves garlic, chopped
- -1 Tbsp. chili powder
- -1 tsp. cumin
- -1 tsp. turmeric
- -1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- -1 tsp. chili garlic sauce (or any hot sauce)
- -14 oz. can tomatoes
- -1 cup cooked white rice
- -1 Tbsp. pine nuts
- -salt and pepper, to taste
Brown meat with onions, jalepeno, and garlic. Add rest of ingredients and sprinkle pine nuts on top.
