Avocado Face Mask

Beauty is not my area of expertise but since food is involved I thought it would be appropriate. I watch The Doctors (on ABC at 10:00 am) and they have all kinds of cutting edge health and beauty tips. It’s very interesting and Dr. Travis is hot!!

They did an experiment with face masks using a $100.00 mask, a homemade mask made with avocado and a $20.00 one from the drugstore. They measured the amount of moisture in the skin after each mask was applied. The homemade one came in second so since I don’t have an extra $100.00 I thought I would try it. This is the recipe I found.

  • -1/2 medium ripe avocado
  • -1 tbsp. all natural honey
  • -1 tbsp all natural yogurt
  • -1 cucumber

Mash the avocado and add honey and yogurt. Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face and neck and place the cucumber slices over your eyes and relax for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Avocados are a good source of potassium, which is known as the youth mineral. Honey has the ability to kill germs on the skin and can reduce swelling and inflammation. Yogurt contains lactic acid, which soothes and softens the skin while tightening wrilnkle and refining pores.

Why not try this? It only cost me a couple of dollars and my skin feels fantastic!!
